Women In Business
I found this amazing insight into some of the latest data available about Women Business Start ups on Mashable. The original creation of the Infographic was by Harrison Kratz, of MBA@UNC program at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School
I found the results really interesting and I’m sure you will too. Women on average are starting businesses up at 1.5x the national average!
This is great news, and highlights the ratios of Male to Female workers in start ups and various industries.
On the down side, it also shows that 40% of large public companies have no women on their board of directors. Not so great.
Take a look at the venture capital section – just 3-5% of women-owned business receive venture capital! This is really shocking. Does it show a need for proper direction and guidance in raising capital or is it telling us that women are starting businesses that don’t require a venture capitalist?
It is US statistics, and I’m hoping that someone will make up a UK version really soon.
In any event, an interesting read would be an infographic about Women Businesses in Norway, who is running at a massive 40.1% Women Board Members. Phew!
